Graduate Level Apprenticeships at Heriot-Watt University
Graduate Level Apprenticeships (GLAs) are an exciting new approach to skills development, presenting an opportunity to combine academic knowledge with skills development in the workplace. They give individuals the opportunity to increase their professional skills and enhance their career prospects while earning and studying to degree level.
Heriot-Watt University has a total of 75 places across three GLAs in Engineering, Design and Manufacturing, IT Management for Business and IT Software Development.
The University develops and delivers the apprenticeships, in partnership with employers. Apprentices spend most of their time in the workplace, are paid throughout the apprenticeship, and leave the programme with an Honours Degree from Heriot-Watt University.
For employers, they are a highly efficient and effective way to meet the needs of industry, helping to; develop and retain existing staff, plan for skills needs, bring in new knowledge and skills and attract new talent.
